The month of July has whizzed past and our three teachers,
Miss Becky, Miss Tina, and Miss Clarke have now all worked and spent time with the children. Our teachers work together as a team in all programs as follows:

Farewell
We are very sad to bid farewell to Shirley. We will miss you and your family and wish you all the best in the future. Thank you so much for choosing Granville House Montessori.
Happy Birthday ?
Birthday greetings to Kayleigh on her fourth birthday. We celebrated with cool watermelon ? slices in keeping with our healthy eating policy.
Volunteers
GHM welcomes and hosts volunteers throughout the year. We were pleased to have Miss Kelly join us again this summer to spend some time with the children. We must thank her for her continued interest and assistance with our program.

What is STEM?
According to Dr. Sherri Killins, Dr. Sherri Killins, Commissioner, Department of Early Education and Care VP, Education and Family Learning, Boston Children’s Museum,
“What STEM does is give a label to what you are already doing… helping children to explore, observe, ask questions, predict, integrate their learning… its what we’ve always done in early childhood education.”
STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
In preparation for our field trip, we prepped our students with the following STEM activities: Dinosaurs Sink and float. Triceratops veggies Cooking. Capturing photos of dinosaurs with the iPad. Dinosaur environment cup. Dinosaur montage. Dinosaur construction. Dinosaur fractions, counting, and matching.
